Horizon: Beyond What the Eye Sees
In this collection of abstract work, Shel invites viewers to explore what lies beneath the surface of sight: rhythms of nature, questions of philosophy, vibrations of music, and our shared humanity. Each piece seeks to reveal connections and emotions opening space for retrospection and discovery.

“In and Out Forever: 067” is an exploration of the lifelong tension between identity and transformation—our continual quest to become our truest selves. Inspired by the cyclical rhythm of the sun and full moon, the palette evokes both light and reflection, suggesting the phases of becoming, retreat, and return. The inscription “067” anchors the piece in symbolic language: zero as infinite potential, six as the nurturing force within, and seven as the introspective search for wisdom.

“The Art of Being" is a vibrant exploration of the beauty found in life's everyday messiness. Through bold color contrasts, spontaneous marks, and intentional compositions, Shel invites viewers to embrace the delicate balance between chaos and serenity. This piece serves as a reminder that within the movement of our daily lives, we hold the power to create space for calmness, energy, agency, and hope. It is an invitation to lean into the imperfections, recognizing them not as obstacles but as essential elements of a life well lived.

“355”

This work balances spontaneity and intentionality.

The number 355 appears subtly within the painting, suggesting symbolic meaning. In numerology, 355 embodies joy, transformation, and personal freedom, with the repetition of 5 amplifying the energy of life choices, adventure, and growth through experience. These themes are mirrored in the work’s bold interplay of forms and colors—burnt sienna, desert ochre, sage green, and turquoise—evoking canyon cliffs, sun-bleached trails, and the open skies of the Southwest.
